The Transition Institute 1.5 is looking for its next research engineer. Your mission will be to support the TTI.5 team in coordinating and facilitating the Institute’s interdisciplinary scientific program. The key challenge of the position will be to enhance the dynamics of exchange and scientific production within the five research areas that make up the TTI.5 scientific program, as well as to promote the research work of Mines Paris – PSL that aligns with the Institute’s themes.

You will divide your time between tasks related to the scientific activities of the Institute (70%) and conducting research (30%).

This is an 18-month fixed-term contract, based at the Pierre Laffitte campus of Mines Paris – PSL in Sophia Antipolis, with a desired start date in October 2024. Your application should be sent via this link.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating lead researchers for the 5 research areas of the TTI.5 scientific program.
  • Facilitating scientific activities within these 5 research areas.
  • Supporting the organization of various scientific dissemination events (webinars, forums, and workshops) for the Institute and its training programs.
  • Monitoring and coordinating activity reports and summary reports.
  • Writing thematic reports and summary notes.
  • Conducting research on projects and theses at Mines Paris – PSL related to transition issues (broadly defined) and maintaining a database that lists them.
  • Occasional travel to Paris is required.

Candidate Profile:

Skills and Expertise:

  • A Master’s degree (Bac + 5) in a field related to energy and/or the environment. A Ph.D. would be highly appreciated.
  • One year of experience in a similar position.
  • Excellent knowledge of the research environment, familiarity with scientific/academic vocabulary, and a strong interest in climate/ecological issues.
  • Experience in project monitoring and coordination.
  • Experience in organizing scientific events.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Proficiency with the following software tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.); Collaborative tools (e.g., Office 365, Discord, Slack, etc.); WordPress.
  • French language: excellent command, both spoken and written, with excellent writing and summarizing skills.
  • English language: professional proficiency required.
