The Transition Institute 1.5 is looking for its next Communications Officer. You will report to the Director of TTI.5 and be supervised by the Project Manager and the Scientific Outreach Manager. You will also be expected to work closely with the Mines Paris – PSL communications team and to collaborate regularly with other Mines Paris – PSL departments, as well as with numerous researchers, students, PhD students and partners of the Institute. Your responsibilities will include the internal and external communication of the Transition Institute 1.5, as well as the organisation of events.
This is an 18-month fixed-term contract, based at the Pierre Laffitte campus of Mines Paris – PSL in Sophia Antipolis, with a preferred starting date of October 2024. Your application should be submitted via this link.
Missions:
- Development of communication campaigns (internal and external):Management of social networks (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube);Establishment and feeding of a publication calendar;Writing and publication of content and creation of associated visuals;
- Writing and sending of newsletters (EN / FR) via our mailing tool.
- Suggestions for popularization formats and/or formats adapted to publication on social networks (e.g. infographics).
- Management of the website: publication of news from the Institute and the School (collected and selected), publication of job offers and theses, resources, etc., regular updates of the various pages (EN / FR).
- Media monitoring and regular maintenance of a press review.
- Layout work in accordance with the Institute’s charter (publications, brochures, activity reports, posters, etc.).
- Participation in the organization of events: communication structured around the event (before, during and after the event), logistical organization (room reservations, caterer, photographer, etc.), guest reception mission.
The candidate’s profile
- We are looking for a profile with a Bac +5 in communication with a minimum of 2 years’ experience (ideally in the research or university environment) or a Bac +5 in science with training and/or experience in communication.
- The candidate must have a good knowledge of the world of research, ease with scientific/academic vocabulary, and an interest in climate/ecological issues.
- Travel in the Paris region is expected (1 or 2 times a year).
- Knowledge and know-how:
- Excellent command of social networks (publication strategy, content creation, planning, etc.).
- Document layout in accordance with an established graphic charter.
- Proficiency in the following computer tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.); Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop software (Adobe Final Cut or equivalent would be a plus!); Emailing tools (e.g. Mailchimp or Sendinblue); Collaborative work tools (e.g. Office 365, Discord, Slack, etc.)
- WordPress;
- French language: excellent command, both oral and written, excellent; writing and synthesis skills;
- English language: professional level required.
