In March 2023, the Gabriel Péri Foundation organized two days of conferences and dialogue as part of its annual international symposium centered around the theme « L’énergie : bien commun de l’humanité ? » [Translation in English: “Energy: a Common Good for Humanity?”] at the Luxembourg Palace in Paris.
This conference was conducted in the French language.
It was on this occasion that Nadia MAÏZI was invited to speak and deliver a presentation on the following question: « Droit à l’énergie, accès à l’énergie comme condition d’accès aux droits humains essentiels, réponse au changement climatique : où en sommes-nous dans le monde d’aujourd’hui ? » [Translation in English: “Right to energy, access to energy as a condition for accessing essential human rights, response to climate change: where do we stand in today’s world?”].
« L’injustice climatique a été identifiée avec l’idée que ceux qui subiront les conséquences des changements climatiques sont aussi ceux qui sont les moins contributifs à la responsabilité des changements climatiques », Nadia MAÏZI.
[Translation in English: “In climate injustice, the notion is identified that those who will bear the consequences of climate change are also those who contribute the least to the responsibility for climate change.”]
Nadia MAÏZI, the lead co-author of the 6th IPCC report, has been heading The Transition Institute 1.5 since its establishment in 2022. She also serves as the Director of CMA Mines Paris – PSL and holds the position of Chair for MPDD.
