organized the second edition of the 2nd Workshop TTI.5 on May 28, 2024, at the Paris campus of Mines Paris – PSL.
This annual event, exclusively for researchers and doctoral students from our school, was a unique opportunity to share and explore the school’s research work related to the low-carbon transition and the challenges of adaptation, as well as issues related to biodiversity.
During this day, participants had the opportunity to present their work, exchange ideas, and collaborate in an environment conducive to discussion and reflection. We were confident that this event would significantly contribute to the advancement of our research and our collective understanding of the challenges related to the low-carbon transition.
To participate, registration was mandatory. This event took place in French.

A program was organized into several sessions:
- Presentation of activities by The Transition Institute 1.5 and open discussions on the institute’s projects.
- Overview of theses conducted at the School in the format “My Thesis in 3 Minutes Chrono!”
- Presentation of works by School researchers (thematic interventions and roundtable discussions).
- 2nd edition of the TTI.5 Prize Environmental Controversy
This event was coordinated by the TTI.5 team, Sébastien JOANNÈS (MAT Mines Paris – PSL), and Oriane SENNINGER (CEMEF Mines Paris – PSL), with the support of TTI.5 faculty mentors.
My Thesis in 3 Minutes!
Additionally, we were pleased to announce that during this day, a session titled “My Thesis in 3 Minutes! ⏱” was organized in the morning. In the spirit of “Three Minute Thesis,” TTI.5 provided an opportunity for willing doctoral candidates to present their thesis topic in 3 minutes flat, in front of other researchers from Mines Paris – PSL.
2nd TTI.5 Prize for Environmental Controversy
For the second consecutive year, The Transition Institute 1.5 awarded the TTI.5 Prize for Environmental Controversy. This prize rewarded the best controversy work on an environmental theme among the projects carried out by students of the Civil Engineering Cycle at Mines Paris – PSL in the framework of the course Description de controverses, supervised by Madeleine AKRICH, a sociologist and research director at the Centre de sociologie de l’innovation (CSI Mines Paris – PSL).
