The fourth session of the Webinar TTI.5 addressed the theme of “Ecological Transition in the Building Sector” [Original title in French: Transition écologique dans le secteur du bâtiment]. This session, organized by Bruno PEUPORTIER (CES Mines Paris – PSL) and Sophie DEMASSEY (CMA Mines Paris – PSL), took place on March 21, 2023.
The ecological transition in the building sector is a major imperative to mitigate the environmental impact of the construction industry. It involves adopting sustainable practices, reducing carbon emissions, and integrating innovative technologies to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. This includes using eco-friendly materials, utilizing renewable energy sources, and designing smart, energy-efficient buildings. The ecological transition in this sector aims to create more resilient infrastructure, reduce energy consumption, and promote a built environment that respects biodiversity while meeting the growing needs of an expanding urban population.
